You mentioned inflation targeting. Can you explain how this connects to consumer confidence?
If inflation is predictable, consumers are more likely to spend because they trust prices won't spike?
Good. Now, what might a critic say about whether inflation targeting alone is enough?

Built by Teachers, for Teachers
We're a UK team of teachers who first built Teach Edge for our own department, then rolled it out across the school as colleagues asked to use it. It's now used across multiple subjects in UK secondary schools for GCSE and A Level practice.
Teach Edge is a teacher-controlled assessment workflow. You set one question to a class, students submit in their own portal (typed or handwritten, including diagrams), and we generate draft marks and feedback for you to review and edit before anything is released to students. The same workflow then supports class insights, progress tracking and follow-up.
We also want students to develop healthy, responsible habits around AI — by seeing it modelled inside a teacher-led system, rather than relying on unsupervised chatbots.
The impact of Teach Edge on our GCSE Business results has been remarkable. This year's outcomes were through the roof compared to 2024, when we started using the platform. It's been so successful that we're now rolling it out within and across other departments this year. The progress we saw with our students was fantastic, and I can't recommend it highly enough.
Stephen Walton, Head Economics & Business, The King's School, Chester
The pupil feedback from Teach Edge is extremely helpful. It is really detailed and offers clear advice to pupils on what they need to do to improve at both GCSE and A Level even from even write an improved version. The team are also fantastic – they've helped us refine the AI and are incredibly quick to add new subjects when we ask. It's now an extremely useful tool for us across a range of subjects.
Noeleen Murphy, Director of Studies, City of London School
We trialled Teach Edge at the end of last year and saw the potential straight away. This year it's enabled us to give around ten times more detailed feedback within our normal workload, which has been transformative. It's proving especially valuable for SEN provision, and our students tell us they now feel more confident about how to use AI responsibly after seeing it modelled in class. We were so impressed that Teach Edge is now part of our core approach to teaching and feedback across the department.
Michael Healer, Head of Economics, London Academy of Excellence
Teach Edge has been a game-changer in my teaching workflow. It's incredibly intuitive to use, has significantly improved the efficiency of my marking, and has saved me countless hours. The support from the Teach Edge team has been outstanding—responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping educators succeed. I highly recommend it to any teacher looking to streamline their workload and enhance their impact.
David Irving, AI Lead & History Course Manager, Richard Huish College
As a teacher working with large GCSE and sixth form classes, Teach Edge has been a genuine game changer. It has allowed me to set essays more frequently, with students receiving instant, detailed feedback that helps them refine their exam technique. The class feedback summaries make it easy to identify common areas for improvement, enabling me to target my teaching more effectively. The student tracking data is also invaluable for monitoring individual progress over time.
Helen Hill: Business and Economics Teacher, The Misbourne
Teach Edge has been revolutionary in our school. Having started in one department, it has grown to support hundreds of students across the school in prep for GCSE and A Levels. Gary, the owner, has always taken feedback on board and continued to tweak the product to support our students. There is no need to look elsewhere. This will help save teachers time and maximise informative feedback for students.
